The Smokin’ Chip Feeder tool makes adding wood chips to your Saffire as easy as 1-2-3. Just unscrew the Smokin’ Chip Feeder cap, add the chips to the feeder, and then insert the feeder and twist to dump the chips onto the fire! Now you can add wood chips whenever you need them, as you need them, to get an extra kick of smoke flavor.
Use your Smokin’ Chip Feeder system to it’s full potential! The Smokin’ Chip Feeder tool can be used to drop a bunch of chips almost anywhere you want in the grill without opening the lid. Drop a couple in the middle for an intense smoke, or spin some off to each side for wood chips that will burn cleaner with more oxygen available. In addition, use the Smokin’ Chip Feeder port to open up an extra air-way for the wood chips to breath. So-called “blue smoke” can be achieved in your Saffire kamado with enough air-flow to the chips, and the Smokin’ Chip Feeder port cap can be used to allow you to control this air-flow. The more you unscrew your Smokin’ Chip Feeder port cap, the more air your chips will have. This second air-passage allows you to bypass the charcoal, so you don’t interfere with the ceramic grill’s temperature by feeding more oxygen to the fire itself.
