Multi-Rack & Fire Stone (Bundle)
A complete cooking system when combined with a cooking grid.
The new Crucible Firebox works best with the new Multi-Rack and round Fire Stone. This is a lower cost option than the full Multi-Level Cooking System with the Rack, Cooking Grids and two piece Heat Deflector.
Please see “Does the Multi-Rack Fit My Grill?” under the FAQ “Older Parts (Backwards Compatibility)” page for information about how to get the Multi-Rack inside your grill.

Q & A
FAQs
Does the Multi-Rack Fit My Grill?
We have two kinds of Multi-Racks. The regular Multi-Rack will fit all XL grills, and almost all Large grills. We also have a special SG18/22 Multi-Rack. Here’s how to know which one will fit in your grill:
- All XL grills use the regular Multi-Rack.
- If you have a Large Saffire that has an inside diameter of about 19″, the regular Multi-Rack will fit without any issues.
- If your grill has an inside diameter of 18 ¾” or less, we suggest purchasing the SG18/22 Multi-Rack instead.
How Do I Attach My Cooking Grid to My Multi-Rack?
Good question! There are two kinds of Multi-Racks, so first we need to determine which one you have.
Standard Multi-Rack
Description
If you have our standard Multi-Rack, two of the posts will have one inward-facing hook to hold onto your cooking grid and two posts will have two inward-facing hooks.

Placement
Your Multi-Rack sits on top of your firebox. The side with the metal rings rests on the firebox, while the side with the arms or posts face up in the air. The posts are what your cooking grids hook onto.
Attaching the Cooking Grids
To use the top level of the Multi-Rack, take one of your Multi-Grid halves and attach the round side to a post with a single hook, making sure both far ends of the half grid attach to both posts with two hooks. Do the same thing with the other half grid. Each half grid should be attached to opposite sides and hooks of each other.

If you want to place either half of your Multi-Grid down near the charcoal for a more intense cook, simply tilt it so it slips past the hooks, then let it rest on the bottom level.
SG18/22 Multi-Rack
Description
If you have our SG18/22 Multi-Rack, all four posts will have one inward-facing hook to hold onto your cooking grid. Each hook will be at a 45 degree angle, and face one of the other hooks.

Placement
Your Multi-Rack sits on top of your firebox. The side with the metal rings rests on the firebox, while the side with the arms or posts face up in the air. The posts are what your cooking grids hook onto.
Attaching the Cooking Grids
Please note that you can’t use an SG18/22 Multi-Rack with a Multi-Grid (our two-piece cooking grid). You must have the Primary Cooking Grid.
To use the top level of the SG18/22 Multi-Rack:
- Make sure it’s turned so that the hooks point perpendicular from the front of the grill. In other words, if you’re standing in front of the grill, two hooks on the SG18/22 Multi-Rack should point away from you and two should point toward you.
- Take your Primary Cooking Grid and attach the grid’s top bars that run along the entire length of the cooking grid to the posts. Again, be sure the Multi-Rack is turned so that when the bars on the top of the cooking grid are running parallel to the front of your grill, the hooks on the Multi-Rack are perpendicular to the bars and will hook onto the bars.
If you want to place your Primary Cooking Grid down near the charcoal for a more intense cook, simply turn the Primary Cooking Grid 90 degrees so the bars slip past the hooks, then let it rest on the bottom level. You can tell the Primary Cooking Grid will slip past the hooks by paying attention to the bars the run along the top of the grid.

Great
Great product!
Haven’t used it yet (dead of winter now) but expect same great performance as with my previous components.
I had to cut off the supports for the cooking grid (too large diameter) to fit the fire stone support in my older model with the new crucible fire box. Now I am using a combination of the old three leg support, a modified crucible and multipack support. Works great.
Fit great no adjustments needed
This is a Christmas gift to my son. So, I can’t comment. He would have to be the one to comment once he has used it.
Hi Ronald, thanks for thinking of us for Christmas. Feel free to update this review once your son tells you what he thinks about your gift!
Fit great. I have probably one of the original 18” that has the little hole for wood chips that’s square and has a little cover that pops in place. Was worried this might not work with the old firebox, but worked great.
Great products!!!
Good Upgrade
I have not used these products yet.
Hi, Patrick. Thank you for your reviews! Feel free to update this review once you’ve had the chance to use your new Multi-Rack and Fire Stone more.
