There is so much versatility with our cooking grids today. We offer multiple levels of cooking, split grids, and multiple grids in use at the same time. Let’s start with the basics first!

Cooking Grid Selection

What do you see when you look at the cooking grid you cook with?

I see two half cooking grids. They can be combined into one cooking grid, or separated and used individually.

I see a single-piece cooking grid. One side has a door on it I can open to access the charcoal from above.

Rack Selection

What do you see when you look down at the metal rack that’s holding up your cooking grid?

I see a circular rack with four posts. Two of the posts have two inward facing hooks on them, and two have one inward facing hook on them.

Placing Your Multi-Grid in Your Grill, Top Level

Step
1

Identify the sides of the Multi-Grid halves.

You should have two Multi-Grid halves. Each half will have a straight side, and a round side. The round side will have an open area (like it’s missing a bar). Note that side.

Step
2

Identify the posts on the Multi-Rack.

The Multi-Rack has four posts. When placed in the Saffire, the Multi-Rack’s posts should face up. Notice that two posts have two hooks on them, and two posts have one hook.

Step
3

Attach the Multi-Grid pieces to the Multi-Rack.

Take one Multi-Grid half and attach the open round side to one of the Multi-Rack posts with a single hook. Make sure both of the edges of the Multi-Grid half attaches to only one side of the posts with two hooks. Once hooked onto these three posts, it should stay in place.

Do the same with the other Multi-Grid half, and you now have the complete cooking grid on the top level!

Feel free to turn the whole Multi-Rack in either direction. The bars can be congruent or perpendicular to the front of the grill, it’s up to you.

Identify the sides of the Multi-Grid halves.

You should have two Multi-Grid halves. Each half will have a straight side, and a round side. On each side of the straight side, there are two little bars welded on underneath. Note those little bars.

Step
2

Identify the posts on the Multi-Rack.

The Multi-Rack has four posts. When placed in the Saffire, the Multi-Rack’s posts should face up. Two posts have two hooks on them, and two posts have one hook. Note that directly beneath the double hooks, there are two little hooks.

Step
3

Attach the Multi-Grid pieces to the Multi-Rack.

Take one Multi-Grid half and tip it so that the open round end slides past a Multi-Rack post with a single hook. Let the Multi-Grid half rest at the bottom of the Multi-Rack. The sides of the straight side will hook onto the little hooks at the bottom of the Multi-Rack, helping to hold the grid in place while cooking.

Do the same with the other Multi-Grid half, and you now have the complete cooking grid on the bottom level!

Feel free to turn the whole Multi-Rack in either direction. The bars can be congruent or perpendicular to the front of the grill, it’s up to you.
